We have an exciting opportunity for a Veterinary Surgeon to join the Carmel Vet team. You’ll be split between both our sites in Fallings Park and Penn Fields. You’ll be undertaking a varied caseload of both surgery and consultations. The caseload can be tailored towards your own clinical interests. We’re keen to offer the best support to develop our staff by offering full certificate support.

We are seeking a veterinary surgeon to join our well-established small animal general practice in Newark.  The ideal candidate will be committed to providing quality care to their patients and be warm and empathetic towards our clients in times of need. This is a part time role working up to 24 hours per week covering sole charge at times. Open between 09:00 –18:00 Monday to Friday and Saturday 08:30 –12:30, with no out of hours or on call as this is covered by Vets Now. Your day will be varied with a mix of consultations and surgery.

If you have a preference in a particular area, such as consulting, we are open to accommodating your skills and interests. The role will involve carrying out routine vaccinations to handling complex cases like foreign body removal. Our surgical procedures range from routine neutering to advanced orthopaedics, BOAS, TPLO and abdominal scanning. At Manor Vets, we believe that a healthy work-life balance is essential for our team's success. We offer flexible rota patterns and working hours to ensure you can maintain a fulfilling career alongside your personal life, whether this was part time or set days we want to find the balance that is right for you.

From Work Experience to Leading the Team: Follow Jess’s Inspiring Journey at Our Midlands Practice

Jess Turner’s journey began with a work placement at a Midlands-based practice within the IVC Evidensia network, where she developed her passion for veterinary nursing. Returning to the practice as an Animal Care Assistant, she stayed with the team, becoming a Registered Vet Nurse, and later advancing to Head Nurse. Her experiences with dyslexia have shaped her unique approach to learning and problem-solving. Now, Jess is preparing to step into the role of Area Support Manager, where she’ll oversee multiple practices across the Midlands and support teams on a larger scale.
