We are seeking a veterinary surgeon to join our well-established small animal general practice in Newark.  The ideal candidate will be committed to providing quality care to their patients and be warm and empathetic towards our clients in times of need.

This is a part time role working up to 24 hours per week covering sole charge at times. Open between 09:00 –18:00 Monday to Friday and Saturday 08:30 –12:30, with no out of hours or on call as this is covered by Vets Now. Your day will be varied with a mix of consultations and surgery.

Who we are 


Companion Vets is a small animal first opinion practice based in Balderton, close to Newark town centre with good links to the A46 and A1 it is a short drive from Nottingham, Lincoln and Leicester. The Main East Coast train line can have you in London within the hour and airports are also easily accessible with East Midlands Airport and Birmingham Airport not too far away. 

As we have been established for so long in Newark, we are lucky to have a lovely, bonded client base and most of our clients are dedicated to the care of their pets and proactive in providing preventative healthcare. 

The site is well-equipped with in-house lab facilities, ultrasound, diagnostics and digital Xray. We have a diverse team with a wide array of experience levels; currently there is one Veterinary Surgeon, three Registered Veterinary Nurses, one Veterinary Care Assistant and our Receptionist and Practice Manager. Our vet is currently working towards a Certificate in Small Animal Medicine. We encourage professional development and are happy to consider supporting any professional interests or certificate goals.
