In April, a team from Bishopbriggs Vets took part in the Glasgow Kiltwalk, proudly raising over £2400 for StreetVet with the support of the IVC Evidensia Community Grants Fund.
Through their own fundraising, Bishopbriggs Vets raised almost £1,500 for StreetVet. Dedicated to supporting the pets of people experiencing homelessness, StreetVet provide free veterinary care across the UK.
Supported by the IVC Evidensia Community Grants Fund, the Bishopbriggs Vets team were able to boost their StreetVet fundraiser, exceeding their £2000 target. Overall, their donation totalled an impressive £2465!
Starting at Clydebank, the Bishopbriggs vet team and their furry companions tackled Kiltwalk’s Big Stroll, travelling along the canal, and finishing in Balloch. Throughout the 14-mile challenge, the team showed great determination in honour of their charitable efforts.
“Although the walk was hard, especially towards the end, our team had high spirits throughout the entire walk, keeping each other motivated to reach our goal.” shared Receptionist Mollie Crichton.
Despite the rainy day the team marched on, all while donning their tartan kilts.
“The pain was definitely worth it in the end, the day was a good laugh with a good support team around to keep us all going!” continued Mollie.
Throughout the day, the team remained motivated by their fundraising goal, completing the Big Stroll in just four hours and 30 minutes.
“The day was very fun, despite the rain, well planned and happy to be a part of the experience in aid of StreetVet.” added Fiona Meikle, Veterinary Nurse.
The Community Grants Fund is a £1000 annual donation allowance for every practice, empowering veterinary teams to support local and national charities. Since its inception, IVC Evidensia practices have donated their funds to mental health organisations and animal welfare charities, such as StreetVet, amongst many others.
