Blaise Veterinary Referrals is a large-scale, multi-disciplinary, specialist-led referral hospital which encompasses the culture and values we pride ourselves on at IVC Evidensia. Blaise has added to our extensive referral network, which now consists of over 100 referral sites across the UK & Ireland. In addition to our referral teams on site, the 24-hour hospital is home to our Vets Now at Blaise emergency service.

Our medicine referral service consults patients that may include urgent referral cases and inter-disciplinary transfers from other services within the hospital, and utilises a range of diagnostic imaging techniques and laboratory tests to work up patients and plan and implement the most appropriate course of treatment. As a Medicine Nurse, you will be involved in all the day to day activities of this service with the support of your fellow RVNs, clinicians and VCAs.
Duties will include:
Anaesthesia and analgesia of casesSupporting patient imaging which may include the use of CT, radiography, MRI, endoscopy, fluroscopy or ultrasonographyPlanning and coordinating with our Wards and ECC Nurses about patient care plansMaintaining and preparing the medicine and imaging suites and any other specialist equipment used by the service.

While referral experience is a plus, we provide comprehensive training to ensure your success, and we welcome applications from RVNs with varying levels of experience and backgrounds. Additional qualifications, such as certificates, are beneficial, and you should be able to demonstrate strong clinical competence in standard nursing protocols.
Working pattern
This is a part time role working 25hrs per week within our medicine team over 3 days, Monday-Wednesday. Occasional weekend cover may be required on occasion. This is a fixed-term contract position running until early 2027.
