Vale Referrals is looking for Registered Veterinary Nurses to join our first opinion and referral departments on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience across a wide range of disciplines, including first opinion surgery, inpatient wards, ophthalmology, soft tissue and orthopaedic surgery and medicine. There is also an option to rotate into nursing clinics for those with a particular interest in client-facing roles.

The role is based on a 40-hour week, working five 8-hour shifts with a 30-minute lunch break. Where You’ll Be Working


Vale Vets and Referrals has recently undergone a hospital expansion, providing state-of-the-art facilities designed to support the highest standard of veterinary care. Our hospital now boasts five theatres, a dedicated medicine suite for ultrasound and endoscopy, a dental room, x-ray facilities, larger ward areas with a separate cat ward and treatment room, and a specialised exotics ward. We also have an on-site CT scanner, further enhancing our diagnostic capabilities.
Our team is made up of 40 RVNs, SVNs, and hospital assistants, with many of our RVNs holding advanced diplomas and certificates. We are committed to supporting career progression, offering mentorship and learning opportunities for all team members. We foster an evidence-based, no-blame culture, where every team member is encouraged to have a voice in shaping the way we work. Regular team meetings, critical event reviews, crash debriefs, and biannual one-to-one meetings ensure ongoing learning and continuous improvement.

What We’re Looking For


We are seeking enthusiastic and proactive Registered Veterinary Nurses who are eager to develop their skills in a busy, fast-paced hospital environment. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy a varied caseload and the opportunity to expand their nursing knowledge. Previous referral experience is not required, as full training will be provided.
