Your Future Role
As a key member of the nursing team, you will play a vital role in supporting the growth of our internal medicine department, ensuring patients receive the highest level of care throughout their treatment. Your work will directly impact the wellbeing of patients while also providing crucial support to our specialists and clients during their treatment journey. As an Internal Medicine Nurse, you will support the smooth running of the medicine service, assisting with diagnostics, procedures, and patient flow across the department.
Key Responsibilities:
Supporting patient admissions, blood sampling, intravenous catheter placement, laboratory sample handling and preparation for diagnostic investigationsAssisting with internal medicine diagnostics and procedures, including endoscopy and sampling plus imaging procedures such ultrasound and CT.Preparing, assisting with, and monitoring sedation and anaesthesia, including recovery care in patients undergoing diagnostic procedures.Supporting clinicians during consultations, procedures, and the admission process to ensure efficient workflow and excellent communication.Maintaining accurate clinical records, supporting high standards of infection control, clinical governance and contribute to maintaining our medicine suites and equipment to the highest standard.Contributing to a positive team culture focused on professionalism, communication, and clinical excellence

Excellent clinical care delivered in a friendly and supportive manner to referring vets, is paramount to the team. The hospital is operational 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and can offer the most advanced treatment options available for orthopaedic, neurology, soft tissue, oncology, and internal medicine cases.

We have a dedicated team of over 100 people, including 11 specialists, 25 RVNs, and various support teams.
Working Pattern
This is a part time position averaging 26.67 hours per week. Days of work are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday working an 8hr shift between 07:30-20:30 on a rota basis. There is a 1 in 6 weekend rota, and you would ordinarily work 1-2 bank holidays per year.
