Are you a passionate and motivated veterinary professional looking to advance your career in diagnostic imaging? Southern Counties Veterinary Specialists is seeking a Diagnostic Imaging Intern to join our dynamic, multidisciplinary team.
About the Role:
As a Diagnostic Imaging Intern, you will work closely with our team of imaging specialists, including two ECVDI specialists, one board-eligible radiologist, two ECVDI residents, and two radiographers. Your main role will be to ensure the smooth operation of the Imaging department while gaining hands-on experience in a wide variety of challenging imaging cases.
You will assist in the care of imaging patients, support clinician communications, and contribute to our weekly journal clubs. You will also have the opportunity to work on a research project or case report aimed at peer-reviewed publication.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the day-to-day running of the Imaging department.Assist with patient care, consultations, and discharges.Participate actively in weekly journal clubs and research activities.Communicate clearly with internal and external clients, including referring vets.Write personalized imaging reports promptly, ensuring they are reviewed by clinicians in a timely manner.Collaborate with team members, maintaining high-quality service standards and promoting a positive work environment.Participate in the on-call rota for imaging, including covering hospital weekends and nights.
Requirements:
Essential
Registered with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS)Completion of a Rotating Internship.1 to 2 years experience in general practice. Strong communication skills.Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.Flexibility to work on a rotating shift pattern, including weekends, nights, and on-call duties.
Desirable:
Proficiency in software packages such as Microsoft Office, RX, and Monday.com.Experience with giving estimates for procedures and managing client communications.A strong interest in diagnostic imaging and research.
