An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join our friendly and supportive team at Vine Tree Vets. We’re keen to hear from compassionate vets who thrive in a collaborative environment and are looking to grow their clinical skills. Vine Tree Vets is situated in the heart of the beautiful Wye Valley, with easy access to the Forest of Dean, Bath, Gloucester, Bristol, and the Cotswolds. Our modern, purpose-built practice was thoughtfully converted from a former pub in 2015 and supports a varied and busy small animal caseload.

We’re proud of our well-equipped facilities, which include:

Two consulting rooms
Operating theatre
Imaging suite with digital X-ray, dental X-ray, ultrasound and endoscopy
Main prep area
Cat-only prep room with direct access to the cattery
Separate dog ward

How You’ll Make a Difference 


As a Primary Care Veterinary Surgeon, you’ll work collaboratively with the wider practice team to deliver a high standard of patient and client care across a varied and rewarding caseload. 

You’ll continue to develop your clinical skills and interests while sharing your knowledge and experience with colleagues, contributing positively to the clinical culture of the practice. You’ll be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering excellent care and supporting the ongoing development of those around you. 

 
We offer flexibility to suit your lifestyle with:
  • Full-time hours are 40 per week
  • Four day working week (8:30am–7:00pm)
  • 1 in 4 Saturday morning rota and time off in lieu
  • We can tailor part time hours to suit you
  • Specific days or shorter shifts avalaible
  •  
     
    There’s no out-of-hours or bank holiday work, as we do not provide an emergency service.

    You Might Be a Great Fit If... 


    You are a confident and motivated veterinary surgeon who enjoys working as part of a team and is committed to delivering high-quality patient and client care. You’ll bring: 

    A Veterinary degree and registration (or eligibility to register) with the RCVS 
    Experience working in clinical practice with growing confidence in routine medical and surgical cases 
    Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with clients and colleagues 
    A proactive approach to learning, with openness to feedback and development 
    Professionalism, reliability, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
