Provost Veterinary Group is a long-established, friendly and supportive practice based in the beautiful coastal town of St Andrews, with additional branch clinics in Ladybank and Newport. You’ll be joining a dedicated and experienced team who are passionate about delivering high-quality clinical care across a varied and engaging caseload.
The role will be primarily based at our St Andrews clinic, working closely with colleagues across the wider practice group. You’ll also provide cover across our branch sites, offering variety in both caseload and working environment.

Established small animal practice with main site in St Andrews and branches in Ladybank and Newport
Team of 6 vets, 6 RVNs, and 7 support staff

As a Primary Care Veterinary Surgeon, you’ll work collaboratively with the wider practice team to deliver a high standard of patient and client care across a varied and rewarding caseload.
You’ll continue to develop your clinical skills and interests while sharing your knowledge and experience with colleagues, contributing positively to the clinical culture of the practice. You’ll be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering excellent care and supporting the ongoing development of those around you.
Work 30–40 hours per week across 3–4 shifts
Primarily based at St Andrews with rotation across Ladybank and Newport branches
Participate in a 1 in 5 Saturday rota (4.5 hours time off in lieu)
Carry out surgical procedures approximately twice per week, with remainder of time in consultations
Deliver high-quality clinical care across a varied first-opinion caseload
Work closely with colleagues across the wider practice group to ensure continuity and consistency of care
Support and contribute to a collaborative and positive team environment
Engage in ongoing CPD and clinical development opportunities

You are an enthusiastic and confident veterinary surgeon who enjoys working as part of a supportive team and is comfortable balancing consulting and surgical duties. You’ll bring:
A Veterinary degree and registration (or eligibility to register) with the RCVS
Confidence in routine surgical procedures and consulting within first-opinion practice
Strong communication skills with a client-focused approach
A proactive attitude towards learning and clinical development
Ability to work collaboratively across multiple sites
Professionalism, reliability, and a commitment to high standards of care
