We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Veterinary Surgeon to join our talented and committed team of vets, nurses, and support staff across our two branches in South Suffolk/North Essex at Hadleigh and Brantham on a 12-month fixed-term contract.
Find the Right Balance for You
At Highcliff Veterinary Practice, we understand the importance of achieving the right work-life balance. We welcome applicants looking for flexible working hours, whether full-time or part-time. Our flexible rota options ensure you can tailor your work schedule to suit your lifestyle. Whether you're looking for consulting-only roles or a mix of surgery and consults, we're happy to discuss and accommodate your preferences.
About Us
Highcliff is a long-established veterinary practice, proudly serving our local community for over 100 years. Our Hadleigh branch is based in a historic Suffolk market town, surrounded by beautiful countryside. In contrast, our Brantham branch sits near the pretty market town of Manningtree, offering easy access to the scenic Suffolk and North Essex coastline. Both locations are within 20 minutes of Ipswich and Colchester, and London is a 60-minute journey from the nearby Manningtree train station.
At Hadleigh, we operate out of a beautiful Grade 2 listed building that has been refurbished to create a modern clinical environment, while retaining its historic charm. Brantham offers a spacious and purpose-built facility with all the latest equipment, including digital X-rays, video endoscopy, multiparameter monitoring, and a class IV therapeutic laser. Both sites are RCVS GP status accredited, cat-friendly, and committed to staff development as Nurse Training practices.
Our Team & Culture
Our combined clinical team comprises 15 Veterinary Surgeons (including part-time), 15 RVNs and 2 SVNs across both branches. Our Hadleigh branch benefits from the expertise of an Advanced Practitioner in Diagnostic Imaging and an Orthopaedic Surgeon, with close collaboration between the branches. We take pride in fostering a supportive, professional, and friendly work environment, where personal and professional development is actively encouraged.
What We Are Looking For
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic veterinary surgeon who shares our values and commitment to high-quality patient care. We are open to candidates at any stage of their career, from recent graduates to experienced vets. The role includes 1 in 3 Saturday mornings but no out-of-hours duties.
For those interested in further development, we actively encourage and support vets in pursuing their own areas of interest, including funding and study leave for certificates.
