About Ardene
We are looking for a passionate, forward thinking equine vet to join our friendly team at our Kingswells practice in Aberdeen. With a diverse workload, we see family ponies, high level competition horses, and everything in between. The role covers a wide range of duties including, but not limited to, thorough physical examinations and diagnostic evaluations, developing and implementing comprehensive treatment plans for horses with a variety of conditions, routine procedures such as vaccinations, dental care, and ambulatory calls, and emergency and after-hours care as needed. We also accept orthopaedic, surgical and medical referrals from local practices. This role can truly be tailored to you depending on your areas of interest.
Clinical excellence and phenomenal staff
We have purpose-built premises including 7 stables, trot ups, a sand school, a treatment room, stocks, a knockdown box and a theatre. We have an excellent range of modern equipment, including portable DR radiography, ultrasound, shockwave, lasers, and video endoscope/gastroscope.
Collaboration is key and our friendly team of 7 equine vets, 3 equine nursing assistants and 4 office staff offers the support needed to grow and learn. We like to try new things and have regular team meetings where we encourage you to share your ideas. We are a diverse team including certificate holders who can support you with your cases. We also benefit from visiting Dentistry and Orthopaedic Specialists on a regular basis. We regularly get together as a team and host client evenings where you can engage with the local equine community.
Life beyond work
Nature enthusiasts will delight in Aberdeenshire’s stunning surroundings, with rugged coastline, pristine beaches, and rolling hills just waiting to be explored.
