Salary up to £60,000 DOE plus OOH bonus!
A rare opportunity has arisen to join a supportive and friendly team in the beautiful Dumfries and Galloway region. This role offers a varied and engaging caseload across both surgical and medical disciplines, working between our two sites in Thornhill and Dumfries. You’ll be involved in consultations, diagnostic workups, and surgery, with the opportunity to fully investigate, treat, and discharge cases in-house thanks to our dedicated hospitalisation and out-of-hours service.
We’re looking for a confident Veterinary Surgeon capable of occasionally working sole charge and contributing to the on-call rota. This position is offered on an initial two-year contract, with a strong likelihood of extension thereafter.

We are a two-site small animal practice based in Thornhill and Dumfries, both equipped to a high standard to support excellent clinical care. With a wide and varied caseload, you’ll have the opportunity to develop your skills across a broad spectrum of medical and surgical cases. Our facilities include:

Our team & culture
You’ll be joining a dedicated and experienced team of 6 Veterinary Surgeons (a mix of full and part-time), 7 Registered Veterinary Nurses, and a strong support staff network across our 2 sites. Our close-knit team values collaboration, communication, and continuous learning. We’re proud to provide our own in-house hospitalisation and out-of-hours care, giving our clinicians continuity of cases and the opportunity to follow patients through from diagnosis to recovery.
