This is a genuinely unique opportunity for a vet with a strong interest in internal medicine to step into a role that offers both clinical autonomy and the freedom to develop a niche within a community setting.
Based in our Santry clinic, this is a sole charge position where you will have the space to manage your own caseload, build long-term client relationships, and shape how the practice evolves clinically. This is a growing team, not a replacement role, meaning you will be joining at an exciting time with real potential to make your mark.
This position is ideally suited to a vet who enjoys the diagnostic side of practice and wants to spend more time developing work-ups, case continuity, and clinical depth.
You will manage a varied first opinion caseload, with a strong focus on consultations and medical cases such as dermatology or chronic conditions. While routine surgery is part of the role, this is not a surgically driven position. You simply need to be comfortable with routine, minor procedures such as neuters, lump removals, and basic dentals.
If your ambition is to pursue a certificate or further training in internal medicine or a related field, you will be fully supported and encouraged to do so.
As a sole charge vet, this role offers a level of independence that allows you to create your own clinical rhythm, set standards, and build your own client base.
You will be supported day-to-day by a small, experienced nursing team, and will also have access to the wider Anicare network for advice, case discussion, and referrals when needed. It is the perfect balance of autonomy and support, without feeling isolated.
Santry is a busy, well-established community clinic with a loyal client base. This is a setting where you can take the time to build relationships, follow cases through, and practise thoughtful, high-quality veterinary medicine.
The schedule is designed to support balance, with a 4-day week, limited weekend commitment, and no out-of-hours or overnight work, allowing you to fully switch off outside of your working day.
This role is best suited to an experienced small animal vet who is confident working independently and enjoys the responsibility of sole charge.
You will be comfortable managing a general caseload, confident in routine procedures, and particularly interested in developing your skills in internal medicine or a related field.
This is not a role for new graduates or those requiring close mentorship. Instead, it is ideal for someone looking to settle into a practice long-term, develop their own clinical niche, and take real ownership of their work.
Alongside a competitive salary, you will benefit from a package designed to support both your professional development and wellbeing.
There is a strong focus on CPD, with funding and support available for certificates, diplomas, and further qualifications, alongside a generous CPD allowance and paid study leave.
You will also benefit from paid professional memberships, structured annual leave including birthday leave, wellbeing support, pension contributions, and access to a wide range of additional perks.
Alongside a competitive salary, you’ll benefit from a package designed to support both your professional growth and personal wellbeing including:
22 days Annual Leave & Birthday leave

Full access to EAP and Wellbeing Centre
