We’re looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Veterinary Surgeon to join our friendly and experienced team at Sanders Vets in Cwmbran. Whether you’re newly qualified, returning to practice after a break, or an experienced vet seeking a new challenge, we’re keen to hear from you.

Our 100% small animal practice offers a varied and engaging caseload, excellent clinical support, and genuine opportunities for growth. You’ll enjoy a balance of consults and surgeries with the option to explore your own clinical interests.

A Role Tailored to Your Lifestyle


We value flexibility and understand that every vet’s needs are different. That’s why we’re open to:

  • Full-time (4 days/week) with 2 days of ops and 2 days of consults – 6:30pm finish
  • Part-time hours – flexible and family-friendly to suit your schedule
  • Saturdays: 1 in 3 rota (9:00am – 12:00pm)
  • No OOH and no bank holidays
  • Option to pick up additional locum shifts at our OOH partner, Vets Now in Newport

    Based in Cwmbran, our practice is:


  • Just a 10-minute walk from Cwmbran train station and close to major bus routes
  • 20 minutes from Newport, 30 minutes from Cardiff
  • Located near local shops and amenities, and overlooks the Brecon Canal – perfect for a peaceful lunchtime walk!

    Sanders Vets is a modern, purpose-built practice with:

  • 4 consult rooms, including a dedicated discharge/euthanasia room
  • Double operating theatre – ideal for new grads learning in theatre
  • Spacious prep room
  • Separate kennels and cattery
  • Dental suite, imaging room (ultrasound, endoscope, X-ray)
  • IDEXX in-house lab machines

  • We’re proud of our recently refurbished facilities that support gold-standard care and continuous learning.

    You’ll be joining a team that genuinely enjoys working together, including:

  • 4 experienced Vets:
  • - Cert holders in Feline Medicine and Ophthalmology (in progress)
    - Advanced Practitioner status
    - Special interests in Cardiology and Diagnostic Ultrasound

  • 6 highly skilled RVNs:
  • - Certs in Veterinary Consulting, Feline Medicine, Anaesthesia
    - Working towards Feline Behaviour certs
    - One is a qualified Dog Trainer
    - Strong mentorship and support culture

  • 1 Veterinary Care Assistant
  • 3 Receptionists + 1 Admin
  • Practice Manager
