Veterinary Surgeon - Small Animal
Stonehenge Vets - Durrington, Wiltshire
Salary up to £71,000 DOE FTE, FTC 12 months
At inspiring vet care, our people are at the heart of everything we do. As the UK’s number one vet care provider, we're trusted with the care of over 2 million animals, delivering our purpose of healthier animals and happier owners.
Stonehenge & Sidbury Hill Vets, part of ivc, are looking for a Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join our friendly and patient-focused team on a FTC of up to 12 months.
We’re a busy two-branch practice, with our sites just 10 minutes apart, and this role offers plenty of variety while still giving you the time to build relationships with your clients and follow your cases through.
Consulting, Surgery & Plenty of Variety
We see predominantly cats and dogs, alongside the occasional rabbit or small furry, with a varied first-opinion caseload.
You’ll enjoy a good balance of consulting and operating, with routine procedures, dentistry, imaging and a variety of other first-opinion cases. We really value case continuity, so you’ll have the opportunity to get to know your patients and clients and see their cases through from start to finish.
We’re also happy to refer when needed, with the support of our wider ivc network and Vets Now providing our out-of-hours service.
A Team That Cares
You’ll join a close-knit team of 7 Veterinary Surgeons, 6 RVNs and 2 SVNs, supported by our Client Care Team and Practice Manager.
There’s a great mix of skills and experience within the team, including a certificate holder in Internal Medicine, alongside visiting specialists in Cardiology and Ophthalmology.
We’re a genuinely patient-focused practice and take pride in providing a high standard of care. We’re also lucky to have some fantastic clients, with a high percentage of insured pets, allowing us to investigate and treat cases thoroughly.
Modern Facilities, With a Refresh Underway
Our Durrington practice is purpose-built and equipped with the facilities you need for your day-to-day caseload, including digital X-ray, ultrasound and dental equipment.
We’re also currently undergoing a refresh, so it’s an exciting time to be joining the practice as we continue to improve the environment for our team, clients and patients.
A Three-Day Week That Works
The role is 24.5 hours spread over 3 days, with some flexibility around the working pattern for the right person.
There’s a 1:5 Saturday rota, 9am–2pm, and importantly, no OOH commitments or on call.
How You’ll Make a Difference
As a Veterinary Surgeon, you’ll work collaboratively with the wider practice team to deliver a high standard of patient and client care across a varied and rewarding caseload.
You’ll continue to develop your clinical skills and interests while sharing your knowledge and experience with colleagues, contributing positively to the clinical culture of the practice. You’ll be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering excellent care and supporting the ongoing development of those around you.
You Might Be a Great Fit If...
