Dorset Coast Vets are looking for a Veterinary Surgeon to join our friendly and growing team. We pride ourselves on providing an excellent service to our clients and their pets. We are keen for all our Vets to work up cases as thoroughly as possible allowing you clinical freedom and autonomy.
The role is based at our Dorchester branch and is an exciting opportunity for the right person to build on what already has a good client base. Our Dorchester branch is just a few miles away from our main site in Weymouth.
At Dorset Coast Vets we have state of the art surgical facilities. We have separate cat and dog operating theatres fully equipped to allow us to undertake a wide range of surgical procedures. As well as separate cat and dog theatres we have separate rooms for sterile and non-sterile procedures. Along with separate waiting room areas and consult rooms.
At Dorset Coast Vets we have an extensive range of advanced diagnostic equipment, which is used in our state of the art surgery, this includes Endoscopy, Laparoscopy, Digital X-ray, 2 Dental Digital X-ray suits, Ultrasound and In-house Laboratory to name a few, as support to our Dorchester site.

As a Primary Care Veterinary Surgeon, you’ll work collaboratively with the wider practice team to deliver a high standard of patient and client care across a varied and rewarding caseload.
You’ll continue to develop your clinical skills and interests while sharing your knowledge and experience with colleagues, contributing positively to the clinical culture of the practice. You’ll be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering excellent care and supporting the ongoing development of those around you.
• Sole charge at Dorchester 2x 9hr days per week, Tuesday and Thursdays.
• No weekends or on call
You are a confident and motivated veterinary surgeon who enjoys working as part of a team and is committed to delivering high-quality patient and client care. You’ll bring:
A Veterinary degree and registration (or eligibility to register) with the RCVS
Experience working in clinical practice with growing confidence in routine medical and surgical cases
Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with clients and colleagues
A proactive approach to learning, with openness to feedback and development
Professionalism, reliability, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
