An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join our friendly and progressive team at Stamford Veterinary Centre on either a 12-month fixed term or permanent basis. 

This role offers a varied caseload with a mix of consulting and surgical duties. We welcome applications from vets working towards or holding postgraduate qualifications. We’re passionate about promoting a healthy work/life balance in a supportive and relaxed environment. We understand the importance of flexibility and are happy to tailor working patterns to suit individual needs.

About the Rota


  • Full time position is 4 days per week (8.30am - 6.30pm)
  • Able to offer part time and flexible rota’s depending on your requirements 
  • 1 in 7 on-call rota – (includes a Saturday AM clinic 8.30am-12.30pm)
  • Additional remuneration and time off in lieu for out-of-hours work

  • We’re proud to offer our own OOH service, ensuring continuity of care for our clients while maintaining a sustainable rota for our team. We offer an additional bonus for all OOH work and can be discussed in more detail at interview stage.

    We are a first opinion and referral practice, offering services in cardiology, internal medicine, and diagnostic imaging, and currently expanding both our building and clinical services.

    Located in the picturesque market town of Stamford, Lincolnshire, we enjoy the charm of countryside living with easy access to major cities including Peterborough, Cambridge, Leicester, Nottingham, and Lincoln. London is just an hour away by train. We actively support local pet charities and participate in social and fundraising events throughout the year.

  • Two operating theatres and dedicated feline/canine areas
  • Digital video endoscopy and bronchoscopy
  • Advanced Doppler ultrasound and digital radiography
  • 24-hour ECG Holter monitor and 6-lead ECG
  • Ophthalmic equipment including tonometer, diamond burr, and surgical loops
  • MMP orthopaedic kit
  • Multi-parameter monitors and capnography
