Salary up to £65,000 DOE plus Relocation Allowance up to £5,000
Avondale Vet Group is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join our friendly and supportive team on a permanent basis. Whether you're looking for a full-time or part-time position, we offer flexibility to suit your needs, with opportunities to shape the role around your interests.
In this role, you’ll enjoy a varied caseload that includes a mix of consultations and procedural work such as surgeries and dentistry. However, if consulting is your passion, we’re happy to offer a consulting-only role tailored to your strengths and preferences. For those interested in full-time work, the position would be spread over 4 days per week, offering a fantastic work-life balance, with just a 1:4 Saturday morning rota to ensure you still have your weekends free. We’re also open to part-time applicants, and there’s the option to pick up additional hours to cover holidays, providing flexibility to suit your lifestyle.
Why join us?
At our well-established, 100-year-old mixed practice in rural South Lanarkshire, you’ll be part of a like-minded team of passionate professionals. We’re currently seeking a dedicated vet to join our 7-Vet team and 8-strong group of Registered Veterinary Nurses (RVNs) and Student Veterinary Nurses (SVNs). You will have the option to work either full-time or part-time alongside our specialist Equine and Farm departments.
You’ll find yourself working with a team that encourages continuous learning, with colleagues pursuing further qualifications in surgery and cardiology. If you have an interest in specialisms, we’re more than happy to accommodate and support further study, whether it’s CPD or qualifications. Our practice is equipped with all the latest technology, including digital radiography, ultrasound, laparoscopy, video otoscopy, and a dedicated dental suite with dental radiography. We also have more advanced tools like Imagyst, giving you the opportunity to work with cutting-edge diagnostic equipment. Our team brings considerable experience to the table, with 4 out of 6 vets having over 10 years of experience, ensuring you’ll have plenty of support whenever it’s needed.
Outside of work, our location in South Lanarkshire offers the perfect balance between rural living and access to outdoor adventures. We’re ideally situated between the mountains and the sea, with the Scottish Borders, mountains, and lochs all within easy reach. For those who love the outdoors, there’s no shortage of activities, from cycling of all kinds to white water and sea kayaking, and other paddle sports.
