Are you a confident Veterinary Surgeon with at least 2–3 years’ UK clinical experience looking for a practice where you can develop your career without compromising your life outside work?
At Inspiring Vet Care, we’re looking for a Veterinary Surgeon to join our friendly, collaborative team in Chatham, Kent.
This is a non-senior clinical role, but we’re passionate about helping every vet develop in the direction they want to take their career. Whether your ambition is to become highly skilled in medicine, surgery, dentistry or another clinical area, or you’re starting to think about leadership, we’ll support you.
Your career, your direction
We don’t believe career development should follow a one-size-fits-all path.
If you’re interested in working towards Advanced Veterinary Practitioner (AVP) status, we’ll support you in developing a structured pathway around your area of interest — whether that’s surgery, medicine or another relevant discipline.
And if leadership is where you see yourself heading, we can support that too. You’ll have opportunities to develop your leadership skills and access relevant training and leadership courses, helping you build towards future roles such as Lead Vet or Clinical Director if that’s where your ambitions take you.
You’ll have the support, mentorship and resources to keep progressing, while remaining firmly focused on delivering great clinical care.
Practice Highlights
You’ll be joining an established and supportive team consisting of: 2 Vets, Head Nurses, 4 RVNs, 1 SVN, 5 Client Care, colleagues, Practice Director, Practice Manager

Following a recent re-brand, the practice has a fresh, modern feel and is continuing to evolve.
Our facilities include:4 consulting rooms, dedicated patient wards, a dedicated theatre, separate dental space, separate cat and dog waiting areas
Based in Kent, you’ll be close to historic Rochester, with its cathedral, castle and characterful streets, as well as the historic Chatham Dockyard. It’s a great location offering easy access to both town and countryside, with plenty to explore outside of work.
How You’ll Make a Difference
As a Veterinary Surgeon, you’ll work collaboratively with the wider practice team to deliver a high standard of patient and client care across a varied and rewarding caseload.
You’ll continue to develop your clinical skills and interests while sharing your knowledge and experience with colleagues, contributing positively to the clinical culture of the practice. You’ll be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering excellent care and supporting the ongoing development of those around you.
This is a full-time position, working 40 hours per week across 4 days, though part time will be seriously considered. Our weekend rota is 1 in 3 Saturday mornings (8am–1pm), with no out-of-hours commitments as we’re a host practice for Vets Now giving you a great work-life balance.
