Scarsdale Vets Pride Park, Derby is looking for a weekend veterinary surgeon to join their team on a permanent basis.
This role is a unique opportunity to see a diverse and steady case load as we cover OOH for our own practices and several surrounding practices. If you enjoy ECC and the challenge of non-routine cases, then this role could be exactly what you are looking for. We have an excellent range of facilities and equipment which contribute to a high standard of patient care. Salary up to £800 per day.

The weekend team consists of covering consults and inpatient care/procedures. Consults at weekends will primarily be for sick animals only and emergencies, with minimal routine work. Inpatient care at weekends will be looking after the existing inpatients and undertaking procedures/emergency surgery as required e.g., foreign body removal, GDV, C- Section, dressing changes.

The working pattern is 1 in 2 weekends and there will be a mixture of shift patterns on a Saturday and Sunday. The exact shift pattern can be discussed at interview but will look something like this:

Ward Vet 1 - 7am - 5pm
Ward Vet 2 - 9am - 7pm
Float Vet - 8:30am – 6:30pm (combo of wards/consults dependent on need of day)
Consult Vet -  8am - 6pm

You will solely be based at our Pride Park hospital, supported by an excellent client care team and weekend nursing teams, with support from the referral team if you need to refer over the weekend.

This is a unique way of working supporting a great work/life balance, perfect for fly in fly out vets or someone looking to increase their ECC experience.
