The Role
We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join our night emergency team. If you are looking for a role that will challenge you and give you the opportunity to develop your emergency and critical care skills then this role is for you.
This night vet role is a job share on your working week which is one in three weeks. Which means across the 6 weeks you will work Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday night one week, then on your next working week you will work Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Meaning this role gives you the real flexibility to pursue your passion in ECC as well as the flexibility to match your home life. Monday to Friday our night shifts are 6PM-9AM and Sat/Sun they are
5.30PM-9AM.
You will be working in an enriching environment where you will use your clinical skills to provide high standard of emergency and out of hours care to a wide variety of cases. You will work alongside the rest of the dedicated EVS team, including another Veterinary Surgeon covering the twilight hours, night and twilight Registered Veterinary nurses and a dedicated team of Care Assistants. You will be responsible for overnight in-patient care at a dedicated 24-hour hospital, meaning the majority of our patients stay on site for the duration of their treatment. This provides a real opportunity to work up your own cases and allows case continuity. The Emergency Veterinary Service works alongside the Rowe Veterinary Group, as well as providing OOH cover for numerous practices locally. As part of EVS you have access to the team at Rowe Veterinary Group for case support and guidance if needed.
The team at Rowe Veterinary Group are an experienced team of Veterinary Surgeons with many of the team holding certificates in ECC, Medicine, Surgery and Cardiology. You will also care for patients who are hospitalised by our Referral department in a variety of disciplines, including Medicine, Ophthalmology, Soft Tissue, Oncology and Dentistry.
The salary for this role is up to £75,000 FTE home depending on experience.

Our tier 3 RCVS accredited hospital provides excellent facilities including digital x-ray, dental x-ray, CT, MRI, ultrasound, endoscopy and more. We pride ourselves on clinical excellence whilst also providing a patient appropriate compassionate service for our clients. You will join a well-established team of over 30 other Veterinary Surgeons across the group, a strong, experienced nursing team and a fantastic support team.
