This is a genuinely exciting opportunity for a Veterinary Surgeon who is ready to take the next step in their career within a progressive, supportive and highly collaborative small animal practice.
At The Brook Veterinary Clinic, you’ll be joining a long‑established, close‑knit team that is passionate about delivering high standards of patient care while also creating an environment where people genuinely enjoy coming to work. It’s a place where ideas are welcomed, clinical interests are encouraged, and quality of care always comes first.
You’ll be part of a friendly, experienced and highly supportive team of vets, nurses and support staff who work closely together and really look out for one another. The practice includes certificate holders, with Kevin currently completing a certificate in surgery and Maeve holding a certificate in diagnostic imaging. We are also supported by visiting specialists, including cardiology and ophthalmology.
There is a strong culture of collaboration, shared learning and clinical discussion, alongside plenty of good craic along the way. The team is well‑established, very happy, and genuinely enjoys working together while staying focused on providing excellent client and patient‑centred care.
This is a first‑opinion small animal role with a varied and interesting caseload. Your working day will include a mix of consultations, surgery and inpatient care, with excellent case continuity and the opportunity to follow your own cases through from start to finish.
The practice already carries out in‑house TPLOs, and you’ll be supported by skilled colleagues and nurses, including nurse support available on‑call for complex emergencies or surgical cases. There is real scope to develop and bring something new to the team, whether that’s ophthalmology, cardiology, medicine, surgery or another area of interest. We’re open to all clinical passions and are happy to invest further in equipment to support niche interests or specialties.
The clinic is modern, well‑equipped and continually evolving. Facilities include multiple consultation rooms, a dedicated theatre, digital and dental radiography, ultrasound, in‑house laboratory equipment and advanced anaesthetic monitoring.
We’ve invested consistently in high‑quality equipment over the years and continue to do so, ensuring the team has the tools needed to deliver excellent medicine and surgery in a supportive, well‑resourced environment.
This role is ideally based on a 30‑hour working week, with flexibility around working days to support your lifestyle. Full‑time applicants are also welcome to apply, with full‑time hours offered as a four‑day week (40 hours over four days).
The weekend rota is one in five Saturdays (9am–5pm), with no weekend out‑of‑hours. Weeknight out‑of‑hours is shared within the team, with no Saturday or Sunday on‑call, and nurse support available when needed. A paid one‑hour lunch break is included each day.
Every effort is made to ensure the rota supports both the needs of the practice and the wellbeing of the team.
Professional development is a real priority at The Brook. You’ll have access to a generous CPD allowance, full support for further qualifications including certificates, and a wide range of learning opportunities through the IVC Evidensia network.
Whether you want to deepen existing skills or explore a new area of interest, you’ll be encouraged and supported to develop in a way that aligns with your career goals.
Located in Enniskillen, Co. Fermanagh, the area offers a beautiful setting to live and work. Surrounded by lakes and countryside, it combines a relaxed pace of life with a welcoming local community, making it an excellent place to put down roots or enjoy a great work‑life balance.
This is more than just a job. It’s an opportunity to join a forward‑thinking, well‑established practice with a happy, supportive team that values quality medicine, teamwork and enjoying the workday together.
If you’re looking for a role where you can feel valued, grow professionally and deliver gold‑standard care in a genuinely supportive environment, we’d love to hear from you.
You’ll be a confident, personable Veterinary Surgeon with good clinical knowledge and a positive, proactive approach to teamwork. A good sense of humour and the ability to fit into a close‑knit team is important. You’ll be comfortable handling first‑opinion consultations and routine surgery, managing your own cases from start to finish, and contributing to the team with your own interests and strengths.
We’re ideally looking for a strong all‑rounder with one or two areas of particular interest, although we would also consider a medically strong applicant who is less focused on surgery. Experience in small animal practice is essential, as this role is not suitable for new graduates or those requiring close day‑to‑day mentorship.
RCVS registration is required, along with strong communication skills, sound clinical judgement and a genuine commitment to high standards of care for both clients and patients.
