Join Our Team at Summerhill Veterinary Practice

At Summerhill, we pride ourselves on providing exceptional care in a supportive and professional environment. Our current facilities include four consultation rooms, an X-ray suite, a dedicated dental area, an operating theatre, separate cat and dog kennels, a prep room, a lab, and a welcoming waiting area. Looking to the future, we are thrilled to announce our relocation in 2025 to a purpose-built clinic featuring eight consultation rooms, two theatres, separate dog and cat waiting areas, and many more state-of-the-art features.

We are a single-site small animal practice primarily caring for dogs and cats, with some rabbits and small furries. As a primary care clinic with advanced practitioners on-site, we also handle local referrals from neighbouring practices.

In this role, you will have one dedicated operating and surgical day per week, where you’ll encounter a diverse range of procedures, from orthopaedics and fracture repairs to laminectomies and advanced soft tissue surgeries such as TECAs, thoracotomies, perineal procedures, and abdominal surgeries. We also carry out feral cat neuters and many other cases in between. The remainder of your time will focus on consultations, with opportunities to perform additional surgical procedures if needed.

Our nurses are highly skilled and run their own clinics covering areas such as renal and diabetes management, weight control, antenatal care, chronic condition monitoring, injections, nail trims, healthy pet exams, physiotherapy, and behaviour support.

About Our Team

Our team consists of six veterinary surgeons, ten registered veterinary nurses, three student veterinary nurses, and nine support staff. We are passionate about continuous professional development and actively encourage and support colleagues in pursuing certificates and further training. Our team includes certificate holders in small animal surgery, emergency medicine, advanced orthopaedics, diagnostic imaging, ophthalmology, physiotherapy and behavior. We also have advanced practitioners in surgery, emergency and critical care, ophthalmology, and medicine, as well as colleagues with diplomas in advanced veterinary sciences.
We are a collaborative and enthusiastic team, deeply committed to delivering excellent client service and giving back to our local community through partnerships with local charities.
