At inspiring vet care, our people are at the heart of everything we do. As the UK’s number one vet care provider, we're trusted with the care of over 2 million animals, delivering our purpose of healthier animals and happier owners.

The Cat Clinic in Southsea is looking for a passionate, feline-focused Veterinary Surgeon to join the team in a dedicated Saturday consulting role. If you're seeking a position where cats are truly at the heart of everything you do, this could be the perfect opportunity.

This is a permanent, Saturday-only consulting position within a busy, well-established clinic located on Southsea's vibrant high street. As a progressive first-opinion practice, the caseload is primarily routine consultations, with a strong emphasis on dentistry, making it ideal for a vet who enjoys preventative healthcare, client communication, and delivering exceptional day-to-day clinical care.

The clinic is exceptionally well equipped, featuring IDEXX in-house laboratory equipment, digital radiography, digital dental X-ray, ultrasound, Doppler, capnography, and K-Laser technology, providing all the tools needed to deliver high-quality patient care with confidence and efficiency.

As an RCVS Practice Standards-accredited clinic and ISFM Cat Friendly Clinic, The Cat Clinic has built a reputation for providing outstanding feline care in an environment specifically designed to minimise stress and maximise patient wellbeing.

You'll become part of a friendly, close-knit team comprising two Veterinary Surgeons, five RVNs, and a dedicated Client Care Team. The practice benefits from in-house ISFM Certificate expertise, alongside established referral pathways when required, creating a collaborative, supportive environment where clinical excellence and continuous development are encouraged.

How You’ll Make a Difference

As a Primary Care Veterinary Surgeon, you’ll work collaboratively with the wider practice team to deliver a high standard of patient and client care across a varied and rewarding caseload.

You’ll continue to develop your clinical skills and interests while sharing your knowledge and experience with colleagues, contributing positively to the clinical culture of the practice. You’ll be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering excellent care and supporting the ongoing development of those around you.

•    You’ll be supported every Saturday morning by an experienced RVN and a friendly receptionist, working from 8:00am to 12:00pm
•    There is flexibility to work every Saturday or on a 1:2 or 1:3 rota, and for those who would like a little more variety, there is also the opportunity to pick up weekday holiday cover if desired.
•    With no on-call or out-of-hours responsibilities and all emergencies referred to Vets Now from midday, this role offers an excellent work-life balance.

You Might Be a Great Fit If...

•    Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with clients and colleagues
