At inspiring vet care, our people are at the heart of everything we do. As the UK’s number one vet care provider, we're trusted with the care of over 2 million animals, delivering our purpose of healthier animals and happier owners.

Shreen Vets, part of ivc, is looking for a confident and personable Veterinary Surgeon to join our friendly and supportive team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a vet who enjoys the variety of first-opinion practice, values building lasting client relationships and wants to be part of a collaborative team where high-quality patient care and teamwork come first. With the opportunity to take on occasional sole charge, you'll enjoy clinical autonomy while always knowing support is close by.

A Varied First-Opinion Caseload

If you enjoy the balance of consulting and surgery, this role offers the best of both. You'll benefit from two dedicated operating days each week alongside a rewarding consulting caseload, giving you the opportunity to maintain and develop your surgical skills. Our caseload is predominantly routine, allowing you to build excellent continuity of care, work cases up in-house and develop trusted relationships with both clients and their pets.

Modern Facilities, Exceptional Support

We've invested in the facilities needed to deliver outstanding patient care, including brand-new digital radiography, ultrasound, flexible endoscopy, capnography and a comprehensive in-house laboratory. You'll also be supported by an experienced and proactive RVN team who run their own successful nurse clinics, alongside an in-house Physiotherapy Certificate Holder. We actively encourage CPD and certificate study, helping you continue to grow both clinically and professionally.

A Team That Works Together

You'll be joining a welcoming team of dedicated colleagues who genuinely enjoy supporting one another. Collaboration, open communication and shared learning are at the heart of our culture, creating an environment where everyone is encouraged to contribute, develop and deliver the very best outcomes for our patients and clients.

Flexibility for a Great Work-Life Balance

Full-time hours are worked across four days, with part-time applications from 30 hours per week also welcomed. The rota includes just 1:4 Saturday mornings (8:30am–12:30pm), with no out-of-hours or on-call commitments.

Enjoy Life in Gillingham, Dorset

Located in the beautiful Blackmore Vale, Gillingham offers a wonderful mix of countryside living and modern convenience. Surrounded by rolling Dorset hills and picturesque villages, it's the perfect location for anyone who enjoys walking, cycling or exploring the great outdoors. With excellent rail links to London and easy access to Salisbury, Bath and the Jurassic Coast, you'll enjoy the best of both worlds.
