Practice Highlights
As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, you will be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering high-quality nursing care to patients while supporting excellent client experiences.
You’ll work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons and the wider practice team, taking responsibility for the nursing care of a range of first opinion cases, contributing to clinical standards, and supporting the ongoing development of patient care within the practice.
Each morning, the clinical team attends a ward round lasting approximately 15 minutes. The Head Nurse, Deputy Nurse or Head Vet leads the meeting, introducing each patient and outlining the procedures planned for the day. The team discusses who will be performing and assisting with each procedure, the anticipated timings, and any medications or pre-medications required. This provides the team with a clear plan and structure for the day.
The team rota is also reviewed, including which team members are working, their shift times and the departments they will be working in. Any inpatients are discussed, with responsibility for their care allocated accordingly. Following the ward round, the case vet and ward nurse discuss each inpatient in greater detail to ensure their individual care plans and requirements are fully understood.
