We are seeking an enthusiastic, team-orientated Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team at Oakfield Veterinary Surgery in Tamworth on a full-time basis.

Oakfield Veterinary Surgery is a longstanding small animal practice with a loyal client base and a strong reputation for delivering excellent care within the local community. Based in Tamworth, the practice is ideally located with easy access to Birmingham and the wider region.

Recently refurbished and redecorated, our purpose-built practice offers modern facilities and technology including consulting rooms and operating theatre, an Idexx laboratory, digital and dental x-ray, laser technology, ultrasound and cardiac scanning equipment. We also treat exotic pets, providing additional variety within the caseload.

    How You’ll Make a Difference

     

    As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, you will be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering high-quality nursing care to patients while supporting excellent client experiences.

     

    You’ll work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons and the wider practice team, taking responsibility for the nursing care of a range of first opinion cases, contributing to clinical standards, and supporting the ongoing development of patient care within the practice.

     

    Working Pattern

     
  • 38 hours per week Monday to Friday, working 8-hour shifts inclusive of a 20-minute unpaid break 
  •  Shift examples include 8:00am to 4:00pm, 9:00am to 5:00pm and 11:00am to 7:00pm 
  •  Approximately 1 in 5 Saturdays, worked additionally on a rota basis between 8:30am and 4:30pm with approximately 5 afternoons per year worked at our Castle Bromwich branch
  •  Participation in a paid on-call rota for sickness cover 
  •  

    General Responsibilities

     
  •  Deliver high standards of nursing care across a varied first opinion caseload 
  •  Support procedures in prep and theatre, including anaesthesia monitoring and surgical nursing 
  •  Run nurse consultations and contribute to preventative healthcare 
  •  Provide excellent inpatient care and support patient recovery

  • Registration as a Veterinary Nurse with the RCVS
