Are you a Registered Veterinary Nurse looking for a role where your experience is valued, your skills are utilised, and your career can continue to grow?
At Barna & Moycullen Vets, we're looking for an RVN to join our friendly and supportive team across our two Galway practices. This role would ideally suit a nurse who has already gained experience in practice and is looking for a position that offers greater variety, responsibility, and opportunities for development.
That said, we're open-minded about who joins us. Whether you're an experienced nurse seeking a fresh challenge or a newer RVN looking to build your confidence in a supportive environment, we'd love to have a conversation about what you're looking for and how we can support your career goals.
This is a genuinely hands-on role where you'll be encouraged to make full use of your nursing skills and experience. From inpatient care and anaesthesia to consultations and surgical support, you'll play a key role in the patient journey and have the opportunity to build strong relationships with both clients and colleagues.
Our caseload offers excellent variety, ensuring no two days feel the same. We believe veterinary nurses are an essential part of the clinical team and actively support our RVNs in developing their interests, building confidence and expanding their responsibilities wherever possible. Whether there are particular areas you'd like to develop or skills you'd like to revisit, we'll work with you to help achieve your goals.
Barna & Moycullen Vets is a well-established practice with a strong reputation in the local community and a loyal client base that values the personalised service we provide.
You'll be joining a close-knit team of four vets, three nurses and a receptionist who work collaboratively across our two sites. We pride ourselves on creating a positive and supportive environment where everyone is approachable, communication is open and successes are shared. We understand the importance of enjoying where you work, and we've worked hard to build a culture where colleagues genuinely support one another while delivering excellent patient care.
This full-time role is based on a 36-hour working week across four days, with participation in the weekend rota bringing average hours to 37.5 per week across the rota cycle.
The position includes 1 in 4 Saturdays and approximately five on-call weekends per year. We appreciate that work-life balance is important, and we're always happy to have open conversations around individual circumstances and flexibility wherever possible.
No matter where you are in your nursing career, we believe learning should never stop.
You'll have access to funded CPD, professional development opportunities and the support of experienced colleagues who are invested in helping you succeed. Whether you're interested in developing a clinical area of interest, pursuing a certificate, enhancing your consulting skills or exploring leadership opportunities in the future, we'll support you in finding the pathway that suits your ambitions.
As part of the wider IVC Evidensia network, you'll also benefit from access to a broad range of learning academies, professional communities and career development programmes. From advanced clinical nursing to leadership and management opportunities, there are many different routes available to help shape the career you want.
We're looking for a VCI-registered Veterinary Nurse who is passionate about delivering excellent patient care and enjoys being part of a collaborative team environment.
You may already have a few years of experience behind you and be looking for a role that offers greater responsibility and variety, or you may be earlier in your career and keen to continue building your confidence. What's most important to us is finding someone who is positive, proactive, caring and committed to high clinical standards.
If you enjoy working closely with patients, supporting clients and contributing to a friendly team culture, we'd love to hear from you.
