We are looking for a qualified RVN to work 30 hours per week, we would consider someone newly qualified, to join our friendly and cohesive team. You will work closely with the rest of our clinical and support team in promoting high standards of client and patient care.  This role will primarily be based in Wallingford but shifts will need to be carried out in our other branches.

We are a well-established, small animal practice in South Oxfordshire. We practice out of four surgeries in Abingdon, Didcot, Wallingford and Wantage.

We have a varied caseload, and the role includes general nursing duties, anaesthesia, radiology, ultrasonography, and hospital inpatient care as we are a 24-hour emergency care provider. The role is a 30-hour week over 4 days with 6-8 hour shifts, 1 in 5 weekends Saturday and Sunday with TOIL for weekends worked. There is no out-of-hours work as we have a dedicated night team who cover this. Bank holidays are on a rota basis.

Find your next move with us

At Abivale we have a range of equipment including ultrasound, x-ray, endoscope, dental x-ray, and a lab where we do a variety of in-house blood work. We are the 24-hour emergency care provider for the surrounding area and have a dedicated night team of vets and nurses. The main practice in Abingdon is in walking distance to the historic town centre of Abingdon, Oxfordshire. We are 15 minutes away from Oxford city centre where there is lots of shops and restaurants and it is a very beautiful city. There are many buses running regularly from Oxford and surrounding areas to Abingdon.

Our team currently consists of 9 Vets, 8 RVNs, 3 SVNs, 7 receptionists and 3 ANAs along with an admin team. We are also a nurse training practice. We are a very friendly and welcoming team and would want someone proactive who also has a good sense of humour.

We actively encourage and support all our staff in their professional and personal development.

We also have accommodation available if required.
