Due to expansion, we have an exciting opportunity here at Bridge Street Vets for a confident and passionate RVN to join our team.
'We have three main nursing roles which include theatre, inpatient care/surgical prep and consulting/dispensing. Daily allocated roles are scheduled in accordance with the rota to enable a varied and fair mixture of work.
The role is for 40hours per week Monday to Friday working five 8 hour days or four 10 hour days with 30 minute lunch breaks. Shifts are all between 8am and 6:30pm, working 1 in 4 Saturday mornings 9am-12pm on a rolling rota. No out-of-hours is required and predictable rotas well in advance mean we can offer an excellent work-life balance. We do offer opportunities for evening inpatient checks on stable patients when needed.
About the team
We have a small tight knit team who focus on continuity of care, high clinical standards and putting our patients and clients first. Offering a warm and personable atmosphere with regular opportunities for feedback, meetings, praise and appraisals is a focus for our leadership team and we strive to offer an enjoyable work life. We believe team collaboration is the key to success and fulfilment and that comes across in our team dynamic. We frequently have out of work excursions, lunch and learn CPD’s and even an annual ‘Christmas Olympics’.
We currently have 3 experienced vets, 3 RVNs and 2 support staff. Please see our ‘meet the team’ page on our website and our practice social media for more insight into our great team. We are proudly a cat friendly clinic with certificate holders in practice and an RCVS GP Cert accreditation.
We are keen to aid career progression and offer support in way of further training in areas of desired progression and CPD. Our leadership team have all come from within our team. We regularly assist in setting personal clinical goals to help develop new skills and to offer support to others learning new skills.
The Location
We are based in the busy market town of Driffield a thriving town nestled between the hills of Yorkshire East Riding. Driffield is a friendly and welcoming town offering a superb range of shops and restaurants and In 2019 the town was listed as one of the best places to live in northern England. The town is close to the coast, with excellent transport links to other towns and villages in the area, and to the nearby cities of York and Hull.
Practice Facilities
We have a large open modern building that feels light and airy. With a living room effect consult room underway to offer a more personable euthanasia and nurse clinic experience. With a local park opposite us and a spacious car park to the rear of the clinic with a beautiful beck full of wildlife running alongside. A perfect place to enjoy lunch breaks. We have fully separate facilities for theatre, kennels, cattery, isolation, x-ray/dental/x-ray and prep. Our compassion for all species and temperaments of animals, also means we have separate cat, small furry, anxious dog and friendly dog waiting rooms! We also have a standalone retail shop.
The role for you
If you are an experienced RVN and your main focus is patient welfare, client care and you consider yourself to be proactive and organised this could be the perfect opportunity for you. Confidence in consulting, monitoring anaesthetic and day one competencies are needed for this role.
