Hart Vets has been caring for pets since 1993. It is a family-run veterinary practice with modern surgeries in Bicester and Waddesdon. Our surgeries have been designed to provide the highest quality of care using the latest technology for diagnosis and treatment.
Hart Vets is dedicated to providing quality health care with compassion. We like our patients to see the same vet whenever possible. We care for your pets the same way we would want our own pets to be cared for.

We have on-site parking available for clients at both our Bicester Veterinary Hospital and our Waddesdon surgery, with disabled access to our waiting rooms and consulting areas. Our surgeries are air-conditioned and we have separate dog and cat areas so that our patient environment remains calm.

Unlike most veterinary practices, we have a nurse awake caring for our patients at our Bicester Veterinary Hospital every night, as well as having a vet on call. Our dedicated night nurses ensure that our patients receive the same high standard of care at night as they do during the day, every day of the year. We are the only veterinary practice in the area that employs dedicated night nurses to work throughout the night caring for our patients.
Hart Vets Waddesdon is a Silver Standard ISFM-accredited Cat Clinic with a separate waiting area for our cats and dogs.
Most of our clients live locally in the Bicester – Aylesbury area, but many of our clients come from nearby towns and villages including Oxford, Kidlington, Thame, Brackley, Banbury, Buckingham, Winslow and Milton Keynes.

About Working at Hart

We are looking for a Registered Veterinary Nurse who will be based at our Waddesdon surgery. As part of a close-knit four nurse/two vet team, you will be part of a fast-growing practice that strives to deliver excellence in customer service as well as gold-standard veterinary care.

Working four days a week and one in four Saturday mornings, you will share the operating, consulting and reception roles. Operating is performed daily in our well-equipped RCVS General Practice as are our nurse consultations. Digital x-ray, Idexx diagnostic machines, dental suite and modern anaesthetic monitoring equipment combined with our client-based-ethos makes our Waddesdon surgery a very satisfying and rewarding place in which to work.

Hart Vets takes the well-being of our team very seriously with Well-Being Champions available to ensure that we listen to our team at every level.

Out-of-hours care is provided by our 24-hour RCVS standard veterinary hospital 12 miles away in Bicester where our dedicated night nurses look after their charges around the clock throughout the night.

Applicant requirements:

The successful candidate will be a dynamic veterinary nurse who wants to make a difference for the clients and pets they care for. Wanting to go that extra mile in customer care in an environment where you can get to know your clients.
We are seeking an organised, enthusiastic, motivated individual who will slot into our team from day one. Someone who strives for excellence wants to contribute to the very fabric of the practice and sees their long-term future with Hart Vets
We encourage further study including certificates in your chosen discipline and will endeavour to support the successful candidate as much as we can in achieving that goal. As a training practice, ideally, our new colleague will want to pass on the benefit of their knowledge and experience to others.
We want to provide a comprehensive service to our loyal clients and help bond new ones to our surgeries. Ideally as happy in the consulting room as they are in theatre, the successful applicant should thrive in that environment.
Whatever your skills, whatever your goals, if you like what you have read here, we would relish the opportunity to discuss this position with you.
