About Us

We have 4 practices within our group, based in the Newton Abbot / Torquay area of South Devon. We sit directly between the spectacular Tors of Dartmoor and the un-rivalled South Devon Coastline with its fabulous beaches just a short hop away.

Kingsteignton Veterinary Practice is a friendly, well-established 1st Opinion practice in the heart of the community.

South Devon Veterinary Hospital and Referrals is located on the edge of the picturesque village of Abbotskerswell in the old village cider works offering both 1st Opinion and Referral services. We are open 24 hours a day for in-patient care.

Powderham Veterinary Practice has been around since the 1800’s, and this busy 1st Opinion practice supports clients at both Newton Abbot and Torquay.

All our practices have great facilities including in-house haematology and biochemistry, a medical standard fan beam CT Scanner, ultrasound / endoscopy suit, digital X-ray and digital dental x-ray. All practices are RCVS Practice Standards Scheme accredited so you can be certain that we like to promote and maintain the very highest standards of care.

Our referral hospital has a Diplomat led Ophthalmology service as well as undertaking Orthopaedic Referrals, Out Patient CT’s and Laparoscopic bitch spays and provides 24hr hospital in-patient care.

The Role

Day to day duties include supporting the Vets in surgery – (placing IV lines, taking bloods, monitoring anaesthetics, setting up fluids, assisting with radiographs/ CT’s) and providing in-patient care.

We all have a share of responsibilities here, spending time between surgical, medical and nurse clinic duties to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to improve skills and knowledge. If you have a particular area of interest, we want to support this and make sure you can pursue your passions. We like to encourage nurse clinics at all the practices and we’re open to new ideas in order to expand and improve this service for clients.

We are a busy, friendly, sociable, supportive group with a passion for providing the very best care to our patients & clients. We also recognise that you are fundamental to our success, so we actively support a healthy work/life balance and your mental health and wellbeing is just as important to us. We are most definitely not afraid to think creatively about practice life & how we can make each day just that little bit better for everyone.
