We are delighted to offer an opportunity for a Registered Veterinary Nurse with experience in, or a strong interest in, Exotic Animal Nursing to join our welcoming and progressive team at Beaufield Veterinary Centre. This is a unique chance to work closely with our experienced exotics-focused veterinary surgeon and to play a key role in the continued development of our growing exotics caseload within a first-opinion practice setting.
This is a permanent role with full-time hours preferred, though we are happy to discuss part-time arrangements for the right candidate. The position is based on a 40-hour week across four or five days, with Saturdays worked on a fair rota (approximately 1 in 4, 10:30am–1:30pm). Importantly, there are no out-of-hours duties, no Sundays, no bank holidays and no on-call, allowing for an excellent work–life balance.
As our Exotics-biased Registered Veterinary Nurse, you will work as the main nursing support for our exotics caseload while remaining an integral part of our wider nursing team. Your day-to-day work will include surgical nursing and theatre support, inpatient care and monitoring, nurse consultations and delivering exceptional client care. This role offers genuine scope to shape and develop exotics nursing services within the practice, while continuing to build your skills across a broad range of clinical areas.
Whether your passion lies in hands-on theatre work, inpatient nursing or client-facing care, this role provides variety, autonomy and the opportunity to work to your full scope as an RVN.
Your growth matters to us. We actively encourage further qualifications and will fully fund any postgraduate certification you wish to pursue. In addition, you will receive a €600 annual CPD allowance with paid study leave to support your personal clinical interests, whether that be Exotics, Medicine, Nutrition, Surgery or another area of nursing you are passionate about.

The practice is well equipped with modern diagnostics including digital x-ray, ultrasound, in-house laboratories and dental radiography. Our stable and experienced team consists of five vets, four nurses and three dedicated support staff. One of our veterinary surgeons has a significant and growing exotics caseload, and we are excited to further develop this service with a passionate nursing presence.
We also work closely with our sister branch, Rathcoole Veterinary Clinic, which has its own close-knit team and strong community focus. Charity work and gold-standard patient care are central to our ethos.
You must be a VCI-registered Veterinary Nurse and eligible to work in Ireland. All levels of experience will be considered, and while prior exotics experience is highly valued, a genuine interest and desire to develop in this area is equally welcome. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, compassionate, and committed to delivering excellent patient and client care, with a strong desire to continue learning and growing as a nurse.
