We are seeking an experienced and commercially aware Veterinary Surgeon to join Mearley Veterinary Group as Director of Practice and Clinical Services. This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a true leadership role while remaining closely involved in clinical practice.

 

The Director of Practice and Clinical Services plays a pivotal role in overseeing operations, leading the practice team, driving high standards of patient care, and supporting sustainable commercial success across the group.

    How You’ll Make a Difference

     

    As Director of Practice & Clinical Services, you will provide senior clinical leadership across 3 practices, setting and delivering the clinical vision in line with the inspiring vet care strategy, standards and values.

     

    You’ll oversee clinical governance, quality improvement and performance across services, working closely with operational leaders to drive excellent patient outcomes, sustainable service delivery and a strong clinical culture. Alongside your leadership responsibilities, you will maintain an active clinical caseload, supporting and mentoring colleagues across the practice.

     

    Working Pattern

     
  • Full-time role working 40 hours a week across 4 or 5 days
  • Working 1 in 4 Saturdays 9am – 1pm
  • Approximately 75% clinical with dedicated leadership responsibilities
  • Must be flexible to rotate hours between 9am and 7pm
  • No out-of-hours or on-call commitments
  • Deliver management support across three sites

    You are a confident and motivated veterinary surgeon who enjoys working as part of a team and is committed to delivering high-quality patient and client care. You’ll bring:

     
  • A Veterinary degree and registration (or eligibility to register) with the RCVS
  • Strong experience in small animal first opinion practice
  • Confidence in clinical decision-making across medicine and surgery
  • Experience or interest in mentoring and supporting colleagues
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • A collaborative and proactive approach to team working
