Rosehill Veterinary Clinic, Plymouth, Plymouth, South West

Discipline: Small Animal

Full Time, Part Time, Flexible

Apply

Salary up to £78,000

We are delighted to offer a rare opportunity for a Director of Practice and Clinical Services to join the team at Rosehill Vets. This is an exciting role for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon who is ready to combine clinical excellence with strategic leadership, helping to guide the future of a respected and well-established practice.

Clinical Expertise at the Heart of the Role

This position is ideal for a confident and experienced clinician who enjoys supporting colleagues and sharing knowledge. Alongside your own clinical caseload, you will play a key role in guiding the team through case discussions and workups, while also mentoring less experienced vets and supporting new graduates as the needs of the practice evolve. Around 75% of your time will remain clinical, with a balanced mix of consultations and surgery supported by excellent facilities including digital and dental X-ray, ultrasound and multi-parameter monitoring.

Leadership That Inspires and Connects

We are looking for someone who brings strong leadership experience within a clinical setting and thrives on working collaboratively with others. As Director of Practice and Clinical Services, you will provide strategic and operational leadership, supporting the clinical team to deliver gold-standard patient care and an outstanding client experience. You will champion a positive and inclusive culture where ideas are shared, people feel supported and the whole team is encouraged to develop and grow.

Driving the Practice Forward

In this role you will lead on business planning, financial performance and operational success, ensuring the practice continues to thrive. Working closely with the Practice Manager and wider leadership team, you will oversee team engagement and development, drive new client growth and ensure regulatory, safety and clinical governance standards are consistently met. As part of the wider IVC Evidensia leadership community, you will also benefit from collaboration and support across the network.

A Supportive Team Around You

You will be joining a welcoming team of five vets, six RVNs and a dedicated client care team, supported by an experienced Practice Manager. The practice is based in a converted house just outside the city centre and has previously undergone a clinical refurbishment, creating a warm and welcoming environment for both team members and clients.

A Rota That Supports Balance

This is a full-time role working four days per week, with a share of 1:4 Saturday mornings from 8:30am to 1pm. There are no out of hours or on call responsibilities as these are managed by a nearby IVC hospital. Part-time applications of 30+ hours or more per week will also be considered.

Life in and Around Plymouth

Living and working in Plymouth offers the perfect blend of coastal beauty and vibrant city living. With the stunning South Devon coastline, Dartmoor National Park and countless beaches all within easy reach, it’s an ideal location. The city itself offers a thriving waterfront and cultural attractions, alongside strong transport links to the rest of the South West and beyond.
