The Veterinary Care Assistant role is varied and fast-paced, encompassing a broad range of responsibilities. You will assist with patient restraint, care for kennels, perform laboratory tasks, and ensure the cleaning and sterilisation of equipment and instruments. Core duties involve maintaining r machinery and equipment, processing laboratory samples, thoroughly cleaning and preparing clinical areas and maintaining the highest standards of care.

Cedarmount Veterinary Clinic is a busy Veterinary Clinic in Bangor, Co Down and is part of Independent Vetcare. We are a dedicated team of enthusiastic people, all working together to provide the best possible care for our pets and clients.
We work mostly for our own clients in Bangor, Newtownards, Holywood and Donaghadee, but increasingly, we see pets from all over the province and many are now referred to us for more specialised diagnosis or treatments not available in most practices.
What Skills You'll Need
We are looking for a proactive, enthusiastic, and friendly individual who excels in a team environment but is equally capable of working independently with initiative and self-drive. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, combined with the ability to multitask and adapt to changing situations, are key to this role. While previous experience as an animal care assistant is desirable, it is not essential.
Working Pattern
This is a full-time, fixed-term, position working 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday. There will also be 1 in 4 Saturdays and no out of hours.
