Here at Taylor Vets, we are on the lookout for a friendly and approachable Veterinary Receptionist to join our team on a part-time basis. This role will involve working 20 hours per week over 5 days Monday-Friday between the hours of 3:00pm and 7:00pm. There will be additional shifts on a rota basis from 9:00am-3:00pm paid at overtime rate. The location will vary between Cathkin, East Kilbride, Clarkston and Shedden.
What does the role involve?
As a Veterinary Receptionist you must be efficient, able to multitask and able to work within a busy fast-paced environment.
An example of duties would include, answering phones, taking payments both over the phone and on the desk, allocating client accounts, cashing up daily takings, transferring patient histories, cleaning of surgery waiting/consult rooms, making up prescriptions, booking appointments, educating all clients about practice services eg actively promoting Pet Healthcare Plans and pet insurance.
Most importantly of all you should have the ability to provide excellent customer service. Admin-based skills would be advantageous due to the nature of the business, but not essential as full training will be provided.

Established for over 200 years and with almost 70 staff, Taylor Vets is one of the largest veterinary practices in the west of Scotland. We provide comprehensive treatment offering a wide range of veterinary services, from routine check-ups and nurse clinics to emergency care and complex surgeries. We believe in a modern approach to medicine and are very excited at the moment to have recently completed renovation works to upgrade our main hospital site at Cathkin. As a Veterinary Receptionist, you will play a crucial role in the smooth running of the front desk as well as background administration tasks eg stock take and pharmacy dispensing.
What you'll bring to our team
Previous experience in a customer service role is preferred. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Passion for working with animals and their owners. Ability to work well within a team and independently. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively. Knowledge of basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office)
