We are seeking an enthusiastic, team-orientated Animal Nursing Assistant to join our team at Taverham Vets on a full-time permanent basis.

Our hospital status practice is home to a brand new CT scanner, dental suite, new and improved canine kennels, ISFM gold standard cat kennels, dedicated isolation facilities and four operating theatres. Within the hospital our team regularly perform ultrasonography, cardiology and orthopaedic surgeries. Longwater Lane is a one-vet branch surgery offering personal and high-quality services including surgical procedures and an in-house laboratory. The practice is also home to a luxury veterinary-led cattery and an excellent hydrotherapy and physiotherapy service. The practices are based in the peaceful towns of Taverham and Costessey, just 15 minutes from the historic city of Norwich and less than an hour from some of the best beaches the UK has to offer!

How You’ll Make a Difference

As a Veterinary Care Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting the clinical team to deliver high standards of patient and client care, while helping to ensure the practice environment runs smoothly and safely.

Working under the direction of a Veterinary Surgeon or Registered Veterinary Nurse, you'll support inpatient care, assist with patient handling and restraint, help maintain clinical areas and equipment, and contribute to a positive and compassionate experience for both patients and clients.

Working Pattern

37.5 hour week including 2 weekends in 6 weeks and bank holiday cover

Key Responsibilities

Caring for hospitalised patients under the direction of veterinary surgeons and nurses
Feeding, exercising and providing basic care for animals
Assisting withpatient handling and restraint
Cleaning and maintaining all clinical areas
Assisting in our cat hotel
Reception and administative duties
