An exciting opportunity has arisen within our friendly and supportive team at Millpark Veterinary Centre in Newent to cover a fixed-term twelve month maternity Veterinary Receptionist position. Our small team prides itself on delivering exceptional veterinary care to our loyal client base and as the first and last person a client sees within any visit, the reception team play an essential and valuable role in this.

The successful candidate will be enthusiastic and dynamic, friendly, hard-working and willing to learn. We are looking for people who can demonstrate an ability to multi-task and maintain a smile while dealing with what can be difficult circumstances at times.
While the computer systems used are specific to the industry, a degree of comfort in using computers is essential and in addition, as a small practice we need someone who is a good team player. Organisational skills are important as the Receptionists need to ensure client requests are met, stock ordered and paperwork completed etc.
Previous veterinary experience is preferable but not essential as full training will be given. If you have excellent communication skills, are confident and able to talk to people in what could be trying situations we would love to hear from you.
Your duties will include
Greeting owners and animals on arrival Answering the telephone promptly and professionally Booking appointments, taking payments, dealing with queries Navigating a computerised practice management system Assisting with maintaining accurate stock control Filing, online registrations of items such as pet microchips, dealing with suppliers, etc. Maintaining a clean and welcoming environment in client access areas
About the rota and salary
This vacancy is for 22 hours a week working a shift pattern between
8.30am –
7.30pm Monday – Friday as well as Saturday mornings on a rota basis.
The salary is up to £13,121 DOE per annum.
