Wendover Heights have a fantastic opportunity for a Student Veterinary Nurse to join their team.
Daily duties would include but not be limited to;
Cleaning and maintaining equipment.Disinfecting clinical areas.Running and preparing laboratory samples.Animal handling (a range of species).Providing nutritional support to patients (a range of species).Calculating and administering fluid therapy.Communicating with clients (in person and over the phone).Conducting nurse clinics - bandaging, health checks, post-operative exams and injections. Learning and performing key clinical nursing skills - blood sampling, placing intravenous catheters, drug calculations, administering medications, monitoring and supporting patients undergoing anaesthesia, and maintaining records.

Located in the beautiful market town of Wendover, on the edge of the Chiltern Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, our practice has been providing quality veterinary care for over 40 years. Our two-acre site features a spacious main hospital building, a standalone cat clinic, and a separate equine facility — though this role will focus solely on the small animal side.
We’re a team of 45 people, including 11 Full time Equivalent vets (14 in number) and 11 FTE nurses (15 in number), supported by dedicated reception and admin staff. Our facilities include hydrotherapy and physiotherapy services, a large and well-equipped clinical space. We’re known for our friendly atmosphere — and yes, we really do provide lunch for the whole team every day.

This is an exciting opportunity for a student to join our team, the right person will have an assigned Registered Veterinary Nurse to be their clinical coach and support them through their training.
Entry requirements;
Veterinary-based work experience (1 week minimum)GCSEs in Maths, Science and English
Your shift pattern
You will work 36 hours across a range of shifts between the hours of 7 am – 7:30 pm. Some night weekend work may be required in the future.
