At All Care Veterinary Centre, we are looking for an enthusiastic Student Veterinary Nurse or Animal Care Assistant to become part of our friendly and supportive team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with animals and people alike and wants to gain valuable experience within a busy small animal practice. Whether you're currently pursuing your veterinary nursing qualification or have previous experience in a veterinary environment, you'll have the chance to develop your skills while working alongside experienced veterinary professionals.
We're looking for someone who is motivated, organised and eager to get involved in all areas of practice life. A positive attitude, strong work ethic and willingness to learn are far more important to us than having experience in every aspect of the role from day one.
What Will Your Day Look Like?
No two days are exactly the same in our practice.
You'll play an important part in supporting both our clinical and reception teams, helping to ensure patients receive excellent care while clients enjoy a welcoming and professional experience.
Your responsibilities will include assisting with patient care, supporting veterinary surgeons and nurses with medical cases, preparing and maintaining clinical areas, helping with admissions and discharges, and ensuring the practice runs smoothly behind the scenes.
You will also spend time supporting reception duties, including booking appointments, answering telephone enquiries, greeting clients, processing payments and assisting with general administrative tasks.
This role would suit someone who enjoys variety, likes being busy and takes pride in helping wherever they are needed.
The Hours
The role offers up to 18 hours per week.
The regular shift is every Saturday from 8:00am to 3:00pm, with additional weekday hours available as required between 8:00am and 7:00pm.
We believe in maintaining a healthy work-life balance, which means there are no Sunday shifts, no Bank Holiday requirements and no out-of-hours commitments.
About All Care Veterinary Centre
We are a long-established, modern small animal practice based in Walkinstown, conveniently located close to both the M50 and N7.
For many years, we have been caring for pets and supporting owners throughout the local community. Our focus is simple: delivering the highest standard of veterinary care while providing a friendly and compassionate service to every client who walks through our doors.
Our team is made up of three Veterinary Surgeons, four Veterinary Nurses, a Receptionist and a Practice Manager. Together, we have created a positive and collaborative working environment where everyone supports one another and works towards a shared goal of exceptional patient care.
Is This Role Right for You?
We are keen to hear from candidates who are either currently studying Veterinary Nursing or who hold a relevant QQI qualification in Animal Care, Animal Science, Veterinary Nursing Assistance, Animal Welfare, Animal Management, or a related discipline.
The successful applicant will be a confident communicator with a positive attitude, strong organisational skills and a genuine passion for delivering excellent care to animals and their owners. Previous veterinary reception experience would be beneficial but is not essential. Above all, we are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, reliable and eager to become an important part of our team.
We offer a competitive salary along with great benefits, including:
Leave: Annual Leave, Birthday Leave, Paid Maternity, Paternity, Bereavement, & Sick Leave
Wellbeing: Cycle to Work Scheme, EAP Access, Free Flu Jabs, Discounts (Retail & Virtual Gym), & Access to Company Programmes (LGBTQ+, Wellbeing, etc.)
Career Development: Career Progression, Leadership Academy, Paid Professional Memberships (VCI & VDS), Annual Pay Reviews
Financial Support: Employer Pension Contributions, Discounted Staff Pet Veterinary Fees
This role offers the chance to gain hands-on experience within a busy and well-respected veterinary practice while being supported by a knowledgeable and approachable team.
You'll be given the opportunity to develop your clinical and client care skills, build confidence in a veterinary environment and play a meaningful role in improving the lives of pets and their owners every day.
If you're looking for a part-time position where you can learn, grow and be part of a genuinely supportive team, we'd love to hear from you.
