An exciting opportunity has arisen within our friendly and supportive team at Millpark Veterinary Centre in Newent. We are looking for a Veterinary Receptionist to cover maternity on a 12-month contract basis.
The successful candidate will be enthusiastic and dynamic, friendly, hard-working and willing to learn. We are looking for people who can demonstrate an ability to multi-task and maintain a smile while dealing with what can be difficult circumstances at times. Our small team prides itself on delivering exceptional veterinary care to our loyal client base and as the first and last person a client sees within the practice the reception team play an essential and valuable role in this.
Our ideal candidate
Previous veterinary experience is preferable but not essential as full training will be given. If you have excellent communication skills, are confident and able to talk to people in what could be trying situations we would love to hear from you.
Duties will include:
Greeting owners and animals on arrival.Answering the telephone promptly and professionally.Booking appointments, taking payments, dealing with queries.Navigating a computerised practice management system.Assisting with maintaining accurate stock control.Filing, online registrations of items such as pet microchips, dealing with suppliers, etc.Maintaining a clean and welcoming environment in client access areas.While the computer systems used are specific to the industry, a degree of comfort in using computers is essential.
About the rota and salary
The vacancy is for 40 hours a week working a shift pattern between 8:30am-7:30pm Monday – Friday as well as Saturday mornings on a rota basis and we are looking for either a full-time veterinary receptionist or for two part-time receptionists to share the position.
The salary for this role will be up to £22,225 DOE per annum.
