Veterinary Receptionist

Westside Veterinary Clinic

Part-time, Permanent

Salary €14.15 per hour

A Role Where People, Pets and Teamwork Come Together

At Westside Veterinary Clinic, our reception team are more than just the front desk – they are the heartbeat of the practice. We’re looking for a warm, organised and confident Veterinary Receptionist who genuinely enjoys working with people and animals, and who can bring calm, structure and positivity to a busy clinical environment.

If you thrive in a role where no two days are the same, and where your work truly makes a difference to both clients and their pets, this could be a perfect fit.

A Role Designed Around Balance

This is a part-time, permanent position working up to 32 hours per week. The rota includes 1 in 3 Saturday mornings (9am–1pm), with no out-of-hours, no Sundays and no bank holidays.

It’s a structured, predictable schedule that supports a healthy work–life balance while still keeping you connected to a busy and engaging practice environment.

Your Role in the Practice

As the first point of contact, you’ll play a key role in shaping every client’s experience. From the moment they walk through the door or call the clinic, you’ll provide a friendly, professional and reassuring presence.

Your day will be varied and people-focused – managing appointments, handling calls and enquiries, processing payments and supporting the smooth running of the front desk. You’ll also assist with general administration, stock control and deliveries, and help maintain a clean, organised and welcoming reception area.

This is a role where attention to detail, strong organisation and a calm approach will really shine.

A Practice You’ll Be Proud to Be Part Of

Westside Veterinary Clinic is a well-established, community-focused practice with a strong reputation for client care and high clinical standards. We’re a close-knit team of 9, including 5 vets and 4 nurses, all working collaboratively in a supportive and positive environment.

There’s a real emphasis on work–life balance, with many of the team working part-time, and a culture built on mutual respect and teamwork. With plans to move into a new, expanded clinic this year, it’s an exciting time to join as we continue to grow our client base and enhance our facilities.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who enjoys working with people, takes pride in their work and brings a positive, team-focused attitude. You’ll ideally have previous experience in a receptionist or customer-facing role, be confident using IT systems, and comfortable handling payments and client queries.

Strong communication skills, organisation and attention to detail are essential, along with a genuine interest in animal welfare. If you have experience or interest in social media, that would be a great bonus.

Most importantly, you’ll be someone who contributes to a friendly, supportive atmosphere and enjoys being part of a team.

What You’ll Get in Return

We offer a competitive salary alongside a range of benefits designed to support your wellbeing and development. These include:

Leave: Annual Leave, Birthday Leave, Paid Maternity, Paternity, Bereavement, and Sick Leave

Wellbeing: Cycle to Work Scheme, EAP Access, Free Flu Jabs, Discounts (Retail & Virtual Gym), & Access to Company Programmes (LGBTQ+, Wellbeing, etc.)

Career Development: Career Progression, Leadership Academy, Annual Pay Reviews

Financial Support: Employer Pension Contributions, Discounted Staff Pet Veterinary Fees
