We are seeking an enthusiastic, team-orientated Veterinary Care Assistant to join our team at Haughley Veterinary Centre on a full-time basis.
The successful candidate will be joining our incredible team of 5 Veterinary Surgeons, 8 Registered Veterinary Nurses, 1 Student Veterinary Nurse and 5 support colleagues. We are a two-branch practice covering the beautiful Suffolk countryside, situated near the historic market towns of Bury St Edmunds and Stowmarket.
With excellent links via the A14, award-winning beaches along the Suffolk and Norfolk coastline are within easy reach, while nearby railway stations provide direct services to Cambridge and London.
How You’ll Make a Difference
As a Veterinary Care Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting the clinical team to deliver high standards of patient and client care, while helping to ensure the practice environment runs smoothly and safely.
Working under the direction of a Veterinary Surgeon or Registered Veterinary Nurse, you'll support inpatient care, assist with patient handling and restraint, help maintain clinical areas and equipment, and contribute to a positive and compassionate experience for both patients and clients.
Working Pattern
41 hours per week across 4 x 9.75-hour days
1 in 4 Saturday rota
General Responsibilities
Assisting Veterinary Surgeons and Registered Veterinary Nurses in theatre
Supporting nurse-led clinics
Caring for kennels and maintaining patient areas
Front of house duties
Greeting clients
Answering telephone enquiries
