Mearley Vets part of inspiring vet care  have a fantastic opportunity for a Director of Practice to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity for a Director of Practice to take ownership of the strategic development and growth of the practice. The successful candidate will have the autonomy to shape its future direction, build on existing strengths, and drive continuous improvement across both clinical and operational areas.

This role offers the chance to nurture and develop the team, enhance client experience, and implement new ideas that will support the long-term success of the practice. How You’ll Make a Difference

 

As Director of Practice / Hospital Director, you will have overall responsibility for the operational, commercial and people performance of one or more practices or hospitals, working closely with clinical leadership to deliver outstanding patient and client care.

 

You’ll set and execute the strategic direction of the practice(s), lead multidisciplinary teams, and ensure the delivery of high standards across operations, client experience and business performance. This role plays a critical part in shaping culture, driving results and supporting sustainable growth.

 

Working Pattern

 
  • Working a 40 hour week across 5 days 
  • Must be flexible to rotate hours between 9am and 7pm 
  • Deliver management support across three sites

    Key Responsibilities

     
  • Developing and delivering the annual business plan  
  • Driving continuous improvement and change initiatives
  • Managing the full P&L of the practice  
  • Meeting budgetary goals and driving sustainable business growth 
  • Monitoring business performance and engaging the team in shared goals
  •   

  • Promoting a culture of learning, development, and performance improvement
  • Ensuring appropriate resource planning and team development
  • Championing excellence in client care and Supporting client engagement and retention strategies 
  • Creating an engaging, supportive, and high-performance culture 
  • Maintaining a safe, compliant, and positive working environment

    You are a senior operational leader with strong commercial acumen and a people-centred leadership approach. You’ll bring:

     
  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role with accountability for operational and commercial performance
  • Strong financial and business management capability, including experience with planning and P&L oversight
  • The ability to lead, engage and develop high-performing multidisciplinary teams
  • Experience leading through change and driving cultural or transformational initiatives
  • Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills
