About MBM Vets
MBM Veterinary Group is a large, friendly, long-established practice, close to the beautiful Ayrshire coast with convenient road and rail links to Glasgow and central Scotland. We have practices in the towns of Kilmarnock, Mauchline, and Beith thus covering a wide area within Ayrshire. We have dedicated teams providing small animal, equine, and farm veterinary services. The area provides an excellent base for those enjoying outdoor pursuits including equine sports, water sports, cycling, hill-walking, and golf.
We have all the usual gadgets including digital and dental radiography, multiparameter anaesthetic monitoring machines, ultrasonography including colour doppler, endoscopy, ECG and electrocautery. Additionally, we run a comprehensive in-house laboratory that includes: FNA cytology, full haematology and biochemistry, as well as Idexx Catalyst for in-house cortisol, CRP, fructosamine and progesterone. We also carry out in-house urinalysis which includes dipstick, specific gravity, microscopy and urine protein:creatinine ratio. All of this is facilitated by a daily dedicated lab nurse allowing efficient and rapid work-up of cases in-house.
We are also a VetsNow OOH host practice, meaning that patients requiring 24-hour hospitalisation can be kept in-house without the need for organising transportation of potentially sick animals or those still recovering from anaesthetic.
Our team and culture
Working in our small animal team across the three branches we are currently a team of 20 full and part-time Veterinary Surgeons, including a cardiology certificate holder and two others studying certificates in surgery and in medicine, as well as plenty of proud general practitioners.
