A Front-of-House Role That Truly Matters
Cherrywood Veterinary Clinic is looking for a warm, organised and people-focused Veterinary Receptionist to join our friendly team in Loughlinstown. This is a maternity cover position and a fantastic opportunity to step into a role where you’ll be at the heart of the practice - welcoming clients, supporting the clinical team, and helping ensure every visit runs smoothly.
As the first point of contact for our clients, you’ll play a vital role in shaping their experience. You’ll be the reassuring voice on the phone, the friendly face at the desk, and a calm, professional presence in what can sometimes be emotional moments for pet owners. If you enjoy variety, interacting with people, and being part of a close-knit team, this role offers a genuinely rewarding working environment.
What Your Days Will Look Like
Your day will be busy, varied and engaging. You’ll manage appointments using our practice management system, handle incoming calls and client queries, process payments and end-of-day cash procedures, and support the smooth day-to-day running of the clinic. You’ll also assist with stock control and deliveries, help maintain high standards of cleanliness across front-of-house areas, and provide general administrative support to the wider team.
As you settle into the role, you’ll build strong product and service knowledge, allowing you to confidently assist clients with queries, recommendations and follow-ups – always with empathy, clarity and professionalism.

Who We’re Looking For
This role would suit someone with previous experience in a receptionist, administrative or customer-facing role who enjoys working with people and animals alike. You’ll be comfortable using IT systems and Microsoft Outlook, confident handling payments and discussing fees, and naturally organised with strong attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills, a calm and friendly manner, and a genuine interest in animal welfare are essential. Most importantly, you’ll be a team player who enjoys contributing positively to a supportive workplace. Experience or interest in social media would be a nice bonus, but isn’t essential.
