Intercompany Funding & Recapitalisation Project Lead – 6 Month Fixed Term Contract

The Group’s intercompany loan arrangements are due to mature in October 2026 and require extension. This role will be responsible for delivering the successful refinancing and extension of these arrangements within the required timeframe.
The role will involve close coordination with Group Treasury, Tax, and regional finance teams, ensuring that intercompany funding structures remain local country compliant, tax-efficient, and aligned with the Group’s strategic objectives.
In parallel, the role will support broader recapitalisation and funding optimisation initiatives, including assessing the capital adequacy of statutory entities and addressing any solvency or thin capitalisation concerns.
This role is being offered on a 6-Month Fixed Term Contract basis.
Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities
Intercompany Funding Extension
Lead the end-to-end delivery of the extension/refinancing of intercompany loan arrangements ahead of the October 2026 maturity date.
Coordinate with Group Treasury, Tax, and local finance teams to design and implement appropriate funding structures for each jurisdiction.
Ensure all arrangements are aligned with transfer pricing policies, tax requirements, and treasury strategies.
Oversee documentation, approvals, and execution of intercompany agreements.
Recapitalisation & Capital Structure Assessment
Assess the short- and long-term capital requirements of statutory entities across the Group.
Identify entities that are:
Unable to service debt
Thinly capitalised
Technically insolvent under local GAAP
Lead and execute recapitalisation projects, including:
Debt-to-equity conversions
Capital injections
Balance sheet restructuring
Tailor recapitalisation solutions to local regulatory, tax, and legal requirements.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Act as the central point of coordination between:
Group Finance
Treasury
Tax
Regional/local finance teams
Engage and influence senior stakeholders to ensure alignment and timely decision-making.
Collaborate with external advisors (e.g., legal, tax, audit) where required.
Process Improvement & Governance
Review and enhance processes relating to:
Intercompany funding
Recapitalisation activities
Related accounting and reporting
Drive consistency, standardisation, and improved governance across jurisdictions.
Ensure appropriate documentation and audit trail for all funding and recapitalisation activities.
Accounting & Reporting
Oversee and validate accounting treatment of intercompany transactions and recapitalisation activities under both IFRS and local GAAP.
Work with finance teams to ensure accurate and timely posting of entries.
Support audit processes and respond to queries related to funding structures.
Experience/Qualifications
Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent) with 5+ years post-qualification experience.
Strong background in:
Intercompany financing
Treasury / corporate finance
Group accounting and statutory reporting
Good understanding of:
Transfer pricing principles
Tax implications of funding structures
Local GAAP vs IFRS considerations
Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior finance professionals.
Ability to manage multiple workstreams and deliver to tight deadlines.
