IVC Evidensia operates a high growth model, typically looking to acquire around 300 sites a year across all countries.  

As a Payroll Supervisor you will oversee day-to-day running of the payroll function, including responsibility for payroll-related month-end processes, ensuring controlled processing and payroll accuracy. You will also be responsible for ensuring compliance, adherence to company policy, best practice principles whilst line managing a team of Payroll Specialists.

Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities: 

  • Ensuring daily/monthly tasks are completed in a timely manner
  • Overseeing resource allocation across the teams ensuring effective delivery of payroll services
  • Review and improve payroll policies and procedures 
  • Recommend & implement new processes & ways of working to improve efficiencies
  • Develop, implement and maintain service standards for all aspects of payroll services
  • Line management of the Payroll Specialists, including regular 1-2-1’s, appraisals, mentoring, coaching and development 
  • Supervise and co-ordinate activities of payroll staff managing payroll workload to meet operational requirements. 
  • Ensure compliance with statutory reporting and filing requirements
  • For New Acquisitions, ensuring the team follow agreed project plan, ensuring all surgery Payroll contacts are trained and setup in time for their first payroll input
  • Ensuring Practice Managers and Payroll Contacts are reminded of our payroll deadlines and outstanding submissions are chased down to deadline
  • Monitoring surgery queries and ensuring any payroll process issues are picked up and resolved
  • Work closely with the Managed Service team to ensure queries are resolved in a timely manner
  • Being proactive in issue identification and resolution
  • Point of escalation for payroll related issues
  • Support all internal and external audits related to payroll
  • Interpret & embed new legislation impacting payroll
  • Responsible for the accuracy of all master payroll calendars & processing schedules
  • Ensure all reporting to Pension provider is completed within deadline using the provider portal
  • Any other tasks as directed

  • Experience/Qualifications:


    Essential:
  • Strong experience of managing people, ideally a minimum of 3+ team members
  • At least 5 years’ experience in payroll positions
  • Able to work to a high degree of accuracy
  • Confident of dealing with a high-volume workload
  • Clear and confident communication skills
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Automation and Excel/reporting skills
  • A questioning mind, constantly looking for where improvements can be made
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to assess payroll performance and ensure service level agreements (SLAs) are met
  • Flexible approach to work
  • A strong team ethic
  • A positive attitude with the ability to lead by example

  • Desirable:
  • Experience of Irish & IOM payrolls would be an advantage
  • Finance knowledge including balance sheet reconciliations
  • P11D & PSA knowledge
  • CIPP Qualification or equivalent
