My career journey has been diverse! I originally studied musical theatre, which gave me a strong foundation in communication, creativity, and discipline. After that, I worked in the hotel trade and sales management, where I found my passion for connecting with people and customer service.
I began my career at Inglis Vets working in the dispensary, and I loved it. It was something completely different for me. It’s where my passion for the industry truly began. I started to understand how hard our vets and nurses work daily, and I fell in love with learning about veterinary medicine. I took the time to ask the vets about their cases, treatment plans, surgeries and watched how they treated their patients over the years whilst I worked. I soaked up all their knowledge and asked plenty of questions.
There was only one thing missing for me, and that was the client interaction. After working in the pharmacy for four years, I moved across to the Client Care side of the business. I’m excited to contribute to a positive culture and hope that I can continue to build great teams who hold similar values and ambitions.
Congratulations on your nomination for the Brilliant People Awards! How did it feel to find out you’d been shortlisted as a finalist?
It’s an honour to be recognised by so many talented and inspiring people within the industry. I am motivated constantly by the skills, dedication and care they demonstrate within practice, and it’s lovely to learn I am valued too.
What does a typical day in your role as a Client Care Manager look like for you?
What I love most about my job is the variety. While I mainly work in the veterinary hospital, I also oversee the reception teams across eight other branches, which keeps things interesting and diverse. Supporting my team is something I’m passionate about; I encourage them to connect with clients and patients on a personal level.
This approach reflects the culture at Inglis, where building genuine relationships with our clients is a core value.
We take the time to get to know our patients and clients personally so that when challenging situations arise, we’re able to offer meaningful support to them - just as we do for one another across the Reception, Support Staff, Vet Nurse and Vet Surgeon Team.
How would you describe your team and the vibe at your practice?
Our team at Inglis is incredibly supportive, dedicated, and passionate about what we do. We work collaboratively, always ready to help one another and go the extra mile for our patients, clients and each other. I would consider most of our team friends. When you work in this job, it’s so important to be able to talk and be heard when you need to be.
We genuinely care about creating a positive environment that encourages growth, learning, and compassion every day. It’s probably why I am still here eight years later!
What do you enjoy most about your role and the work you do?
What I enjoy most about my role is the opportunity to connect with people, including clients, patients, and my team. I find it incredibly rewarding to support others, build meaningful relationships, and contribute to a positive, caring environment. Every day brings new challenges and chances to learn, which keeps me motivated and passionate about the work I do. Helping to create a workplace where everyone feels valued and supported is something I truly love.
Do you have any pets of your own?
I have a 4-year-old working cocker spaniel named Reggie. He keeps me super active! In my spare time, we enjoy going on long walks and hikes with other friends and their dogs. I have had the idea of another spaniel for a few years now, and I’d like to adopt another one soon.
How do your friends or family describe what you do for a living?
My family and friends would describe my working life as busy! As a perfectionist at heart, they know I’m always striving to support others. They often say I bring energy, empathy, and a strong sense of teamwork to everything I do, which makes my role feel meaningful not only to me but also to those around me.
My friends also often describe me as the person they can talk to or rely on, someone who’s always there to listen and offer support. I really value being that empathetic ear, both in my personal life and at work.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work to relax and recharge?
Outside of work, I enjoy activities that help me relax and recharge - mostly reading, walking, listening to music, going to gigs, catching up with family/friends and planning my next holiday or trip away.
